All welcome. An inventive course for those wishing to explore their imagination, play with words, and build stories. Original linguistic, visual and musical prompts, hand-in hand with the teaching and practice of writer's craft, will lead into finding and shaping stories. You can also use the sessions to develop a longer piece.
Participants get to share their work, receive feedback, and progress within a supportive team.
An opportunity to release your imagination whilst learning some creative writing tips and techniques. These sessions bring flexibility to thinking and writing, adding new methods and ways to your writer's toolbox, making you more versatile and helping you to write fresh passages, form short stories and resolve issues in longer pieces of work. Craft texts with a sense of fun, throw rules to the wind, re-wild your writing and discover what blossoms with a little carefree abandon. An opportunity for new writers, those looking for fresh inspiration or wishing to bring more creativity into their lives. We will explore language, perspective, and the unexpected meeting of images through a series of original and varied exercises. This course aids in releasing 'writers' block', honours your inherent creativity, encourages self-expression and supports well-being.
"The course helped take me out of my comfort zone and I was able to dive deeper into my own imagination. I gained a new perspective on creative writing and the many forms it can take." - Morgan "I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed the Writing course 'Play and Imagination' with Samantha Forrest. It's been very imaginative and hugely enjoyable.." - Carol
"My writing is being transformed by Samantha's sessions -- much more vivid, colourful and alive. Fun and challenging exercises, with all sorts of visual and audio stimuli, give permission to explore in a supportive environment. I now approach writing in an entirely different way, expanding my understanding and imagination for conveying aspects of (sometimes quite ordinary!) things. I have more awareness of the words I choose and the feelings I hope to evoke in a reader. It's been liberating as a new writer -- and I only signed up for fun!" - Roz
